Homecoming

Homecoming is a poetic and deeply personal play from Guruprabha, exploring neurodiversity, generational identity, culture, and the search for self-realisation.

The story follows  a 25-year-old creative girl trapped in the corporate grind, yearning for a life of meaning. Set within a UK-based South Indian family, it explores the tensions between tradition and truth, honour and peace, belonging and becoming. It is a story about breaking generational silence to pursue a spiritual calling  and finding home within oneself. At its heart lies a powerful story of a woman’s decision to choose a life of meaning over expectation — and the quiet revolution that follows leading to her “Homecoming.

Written by Ms Sonya Arun, a youth member of Sree Narayana Guru Mission of the UK, the play carries cultural nuance and emotional depth, offering a heartfelt reflection on identity, authenticity, and healing. The drama shall be presented on 7th September as part of the Gurujayanthi celebrations held at the East Ham centre at 16 Barking Road, E6 3BP.
