Terms & Conditions for using the function hall

Legal Requirements
- The hall complies with the no smoking law under the Health Act 2006. Smoking is strictly forbidden within the hall and it is the responsibility of the hirer and the hirer’s guests to obey this law.
- The hirer is responsible for making sure guests arrive and depart in a quiet and orderly manner and guests do not cause inconvenience to neighbours.
- The hirer shall ensure that any activities for children comply with the provisions of the Children Protection Act 1999 and SNGMUK’s CHILD PROTECTION AND VULNERABLE ADULTS POLICY AND GUIDELINES. The hirer should ensure that that only fit and proper persons have access to children.
- The hirer shall at all times ensure that ALL emergency exits are kept clear and free of obstruction.
Policies
- Non- Veg food and Alcoholic beverages completely prohibited.

- The Fire Brigade shall be called to any outbreak of fire, however slight, and details given to the SNGM Management Committee.
- A fire monitor is required by law to make a list of all present to be checked if the hall has to be evacuated. Before an event starts it is the responsibility of the organiser to point out fire exits and meeting place in the corner of the Harmer’s Statues next to the Central Park Road.
- Access for emergency vehicles must be kept clear. The hirer is responsible for making sure guests arrive and depart in a quiet and orderly manner and guests do not cause inconvenience to neighbours.
- The hire starts from the time the hall is opened until the session ends and it is locked up.
- Set up and clearing up times are charged.
- The hirer has to agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
- The hall may only be used for the purpose on the booking form and the hall may not be sublet.
- Bookings may be made up to a month in advance.
- A booking form must be completed for all booking at all times.
- The committee reserves the right to cancel any booking with minimal notice if un-foreseen health & safety risk.
- Orchestra and other music events must use noise limiting apparatus to ensure the neighbours are not disturbed.
- All rubbish should be cleared prior to leaving the building, else deposit will be forfeited.
- The maximum capacity of the hall is 100 for a performance but the hall sits up to 80 people comfortably.
- Emergency exit signs must be illuminated and exit procedure briefed prior to the event.
- All events must end by 11pm except for New Year when the building must be closed by 00.30.
Fire regulations (City Fire)

Accidents
- There are first aid kits in both kitchens. Record any accidents in the accident book.
Decorations
Decorations
- Decorations may be hung the ornamental bosses on the side walls but not elsewhere. Hirers
must produce certificate that the decorations comply with fire regulations. No Blu-tack,
drawing pins or adhesive tape may be used.
Sound &Light System
- There will be extra charge for use of sound, light or other equipment. This will be advised at the time of booking.
